MKMMA Week 16- Nature’s Greatest Miracle!

“Since the beginning of time never has there been another with your mind, your heart, your eyes, your ears, your hands, your hair, your mouth. None that came before, none that live today, and none that come tomorrow can walk and talk and move and think exactly like you. All men are your brothers yet you are different from each. You are a unique creature. “

~ Og Mandino, The Greatest Salesman in The World

We are each Nature’s Greatest Miracle and we are being called to live Miraculous Lives. During my personal growth journey with MKMMA, my mind has opened to new ideas and values as well as skills that will last a lifetime. NAtures Greatest Miracle

We have learned that the Universal Law can never be destroyed. It’s the Law. We are learning to actively use and apply these Universal Laws right now in our current lifetime to realize our dreams and goals and live a life of meaning and Purpose and use our gifts in service to others.

This excites me to no end because I feel I now have a blueprint and a road map for the rest of my life. I know that teaching and talking and blogging is not enough. The end goal has to be to actually live and operate in complete harmony and complete connection to Universal mind and Universal substance in this current lifetime. images

Regardless of your current mood or state of mind, believing that you are nature’s greatest miracle should pump you up! But wait, it gets even better. The scrolls continue with wisdom like,

“I am not on this earth by chance. I am here for a purpose and that purpose is to grow into a mountain, not to shrink to a grain of sand. Henceforth I will apply all my efforts to become the highest mountain of all and I will strain my potential until it cries for mercy. I have been given eyes to see and a mind to think and now I know a great secret of life for I perceive, at last, that all my problems, discouragements, and heartaches are, in truth, great opportunities in disguise. And nature knows not defeat. Eventually, she emerges victorious and so will I, and with each victory the next struggle becomes less difficult.

Your Nature’s Greatest Miracle!

“And nature knows not defeat. Eventually, she emerges victorious and so will I, and with each victory the next struggle becomes less difficult.”

Peace be the Journey!

MKMMA Week 15- An Attitude of Gratitude and Thoughts of our Minds

ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE as long as you believe and truly engage yourself with your thoughts, mind and being.

mind-brainWe all have the capability to think in a positive matter if we really want to, but way too often we resort to negative thinking and ideas that we are not able to do this or that.

Unfortunately many people grow up hearing that they can’t do a certain thing or that they don’t have the abilities to pursue a certain profession. They are put down by people close to them.

This type of “mind limiting talk” will unfortunately end up being part of you (Old Blue Print). We are formed by statements and sayings from our parents, kids in school, friends, society etc. And for most people it creates a limiting belief system which enters into our mind and being. It might be a belief that we are no good in science or math or that we are a person nobody likes or that we can’t succeed in the business world or that we can’t succeed in sports or that we can’t succeed in relationships and so on.

Master Keys 15-3 Difficulties, inharmonies, and obstacles, indicate that we are either refusing to give out what we no longer need, or refusing to accept what we require.

Master Keys 15-4 Growth is attained through an exchange of the old for the new, of the good for the better; it is a conditional or reciprocal action, for each of us is a complete thought entity and this completeness makes it possible for us to receive only as we give.

“The way you perceive and interpret yourself is a result of the belief system you adopted while growing up”.

Back in 1960 Maxwell Maltz wrote the book Psycho-Cybernetics where he talks about the self-image we form growing up:

“We all carry with us a mental blueprint or picture of ourselves. It has been built up from our own beliefs about ourselves. But most of these beliefs about ourselves have unconsciously been formed from our past experience, our successes and failures, our humiliations, our triumphs, and the way other people have related to us, especially in early childhood. From all these we mentally construct a “self” (or a picture of a self). Once an idea or a belief about ourselves goes into this picture it becomes “true” as far as we personally are concerned. We do not question its validity, but proceed to act upon it just as if it were true”.

Master Key 15-13. Thought may lead to action of any kind, but whatever the action, it is simply the thought attempting to express itself in visible form. It is evident, therefore, that if we wish desirable conditions, we can afford to entertain only desirable thoughts.

“There can be no question but that he who “is wise enough to understand” will readily recognize that the creative power of thought places an invincible weapon in his hands and makes him a master of destiny”.

Master Key 15-28

Week 15 of the MKMMA course we continue to practice Gratitude and filling out our index cards with things we are greatful for. What an incredible and mind opening experience. More important, we’re also programming our brain to notice even more reasons to feel gratitude. We are learning that over time, our “gratitude muscle” will become so strong that you’ll attract more success into your life, not to mention greater numbers of successful (i.e., grateful) people.

atitude-gratitdueGratitude is the healthiest of all human emotions. The more you express gratitude for what you have, the more likely you will have even more to express gratitude for.        -Zig Ziglar

There was a great article in a couple of years ago by Goeffrey James about the power of gratitude. He talks about gratitude as “an emotional muscle,” one that can (and should) be used and strengthened. He states:

“People who approach life with a sense of gratitude are constantly aware of what’s wonderful in their life. Because they enjoy the fruits of their successes, they seek out more success. And when things don’t go as planned, people who are grateful can put failure into perspective”.

The Power of Gratitude

After watching this, you will know how to get happy again. I lost all ability to feel sorry for myself and have become much more thankful in my life.

MKMMA Week 14 -From The Inside Out!

Ask, And It Shall Be Given You” “Seek, And Ye Shall Find” “Knock, And It Shall Be Opened Unto You” “For Every One That Asketh Shall Receiveth”

“Success is the progressive realization of a worthy goal or ideal.” – Earl Nightingale

This has been an incredible week of learning and discovery. This MKMMA journey has taken us places unimaginable in our minds and heart. We have discovered that it all starts from the world within.

From The Inside Out

We were asked to watch 1 of 4 movies, Cool Runnings, Rudy, Door to Door or October Sky, all based on true stories. I have seen Rudy before and it is an excellent movie. The movie I watched was Cool Runnings, which fictionalizes the true story of a bobsledding team from Jamaica making it to the Olympics.

Caption: Cool Runnings.Copyright: Disney. When the Jamaican sprinter Derice Bannock, a top 100M  runner, fails to qualify at the Olympic Trial for the 1988 Summer Olympics when fellow runner Junior Bevil trips and falls, taking Derice and another runner, Yul Brenner, with him, disqualifying him from the Olympic competitions. He then envisions the chance to participate in bobsleding competition.

To compete in the Olympics, Derice forms his Master Mind team. He gets his friend Sanka Cofie (Doug E. Doug) to join up and recruits Junior Bevil (Rawle D. Lewis), a young man who lacks self-confidence, and Yul Brenner (Malik Yoba), a disagreeable and bitter discontented character.

He and his best friend, Sanka Coffie, a champion push cart racer, seek out Irving Blitzer (John Candy), an old friend of Derice’s father Ben who tried to recruit sprinters to the bobsled team years ago. Irving is an American bobsled two time Gold Medalist at the 1968 Winter Olympics who finished first in two events again during the 1972 Winter Olympics but was disqualified from the latter for cheating and retired in disgrace to Jamaica, where he leads an impoverished life as a bookie.

The four try to find various ways to earn money to get in the Olympics but no sponsor takes the idea seriously and their various enterprises, from singing on the street to arm wrestling, and holding a kissing booth, all fail. Junior comes through for them when he sells his car, which gets the team the money that they need. Later on in a hotel room, Junior reprimands Sanka for hurting Yul’s feelings over his ambitions. Junior tells the team about his own father’s struggle and how he became rich with hard work. He encourages Yul not to give up on achieving all of his goals and the two begin to show a mutual respect for one another.

They fly to Calgary, Alberta, Canada to participate of the XV Olympic Winter Games. In the freezing weather Derice, Sanka, Junior and Yul are only laughed at, since nobody can take a Jamaican bobsledding team led by a disgraced trainer seriously. But team spirit and a healthy self confidence and persistence lead to a few surprises in the upcoming Winter Games.

Here is the key to success, and, the key to failure. “We become what we think about”. -Earl Nightingale

William James said: “The greatest discovery of my generation is that human beings can alter their lives by altering their attitudes of mind.”

And he said, “We need only in cold blood act as if the thing in question were real, and it will become infallibly real by growing into such a connection with our life that it will become real. It will become so knit with habit and emotion that our interests in it will be those which characterize belief.”

He also said, “If you only care enough for a result, you will almost certainly obtain it.” “If you wish to be rich, you will be rich.” “If you wish to be learned, you will be learned.” “If you wish to be good, you will be good.”

He continues though, ” … only you must, then, really wish these things, and wish them exclusively, and not wish at the same time a hundred other incompatible things just as strongly.

Gratitude, Nature and Beauty

imagesGratitude bestows reverence, allowing us to encounter everyday experiences…. ….Those transcendent moments of awe that change forever how we experience life and the world.  -John Milton

We have a lot to be thankful for. What better way to manifest gratitude and remembering so many things in our lives to be thankful for than with the Christmas holiday season. The holidays are a great time to express our gratitude to friends and family by writing cards and exchanging thoughtful, personal gifts and sharing quality family time with those that you love. To begin bringing gratitude into your life, you can deliberately meditate on all the things in your own life that help you or give you pleasure. We are manifesting our gratitude by writing them down on index cards and reading them each day.  We are learning that gratitude can lead to feelings of love, appreciation, generosity and compassion, which further open our hearts and help rewire our brains to fire in more positive ways.

MKMMA Week 12- As A Man Thinketh

Mind is the Master power that moulds and makes,
And Man is Mind, and evermore he takes
The tool of Thought, and, shaping what he wills,
Brings forth a thousand joys, a thousand ills: —
He thinks in secret, and it comes to pass:
Environment is but his looking-glass.

Quote from Dhammapada

I would like to share some excerpts from a book I read “As a Man Thinketh” which is a literary essay by James Allen , published in 1902. It parallels what we have been learning in the Master Keys.

“Man is always the master, even in his weakest and most abandoned state; but in his weakness and degradation he is the foolish master who misgoverns his household. When he begins to reflect upon his condition, and to search diligently for the Law upon which his being is established, he then becomes the wise master, directing his energies with intelligence, and fashioning his thoughts to fruitful issues. Such is the conscious master, and man can only thus become by discovering within himself the laws of thought; which discovery is totally a matter of application, self-analysis, and experience”.  James Allen

MK 12-3  We know that thought is building for us the thing we think of and actually bringing it nearer, yet we find it difficult to banish fear, anxiety, or discouragement, all of which are powerful thought forces, and which continually send the things we desire further away, so that it is often one step forward and two steps backward.

MK 12-4  The only way to keep from going backward is to keep going forward. External vigilance is the price of success. There are three steps, and each one is absolutely essential. You must first have the knowledge of your power; second, the courage to dare; third the faith to do.

“A man’s mind may be likened to a garden, which may be intelligently cultivated or allowed to run wild; but whether cultivated or neglected, it must, and will, bring forth. If no useful seeds are put into it, then anabundance of useless weed seeds will fall therein, and will continue to produce their kind”. James Allen

Master Keys 12- “Knowledge does not apply itself; we as individuals must make the application, and the application consists in fertilizing the thought with a living purpose”.

“Just as a gardener cultivates his plot, keeping it free from weeds, and growing the flowers and fruits which he requires, so may a man tend the garden of his mind, weeding out all the wrong, useless, and impure thoughts, and cultivating toward perfection the flowers and fruits of right, useful, and pure thoughts. By pursuing this process, a man sooner or later discovers that he is the master-gardener of his soul, the director of his life. He also reveals, within himself, the laws of thought, and understands, with ever-increasing accuracy, how the thought-forces and mind-elements operate in the shaping of his character, circumstances, and destiny”. James Allen

MK 12-11. Of course, worry, fear, and all negative thoughts produce a crop after their kind; those who harbor thoughts of this kind must inevitably reap what they have sown.

MK 12-17 The law is that thought will correlate with its object and bring forth in the material world the correspondence of the thing thought or produced in the mental world. We then discern the absolute necessity of seeing that every thought has theinherent germ of truth in order that the law of growth will bring into manifestation good, for good alone can confer any permanent power.

“Every man is where he is by the law of his being; the thoughts which he has built into his character have brought him there, and in the arrangement of his life there is no element of chance, but all is the result of a law which cannot err. This is just as true of those who feel “out of harmony” with their surroundings as of those who are contented with them. James Allen

MK 12-18 The principle which gives the thought the dynamic power to correlate with its object, and therefore to master every adverse human experience, is the law of attraction, which is another name for love. This is an eternal and fundamental principle, inherent in all things, in every system of Philosophy, in every Religion, and in every Science. There is no getting away from the law of love. It is feeling that imparts vitality to thought. Feeling is desire, and desire is love. Thought impregnated with love becomes invincible.

“Dream lofty dreams, and as you dream, so shall you become. Your Vision is the promise of what you shall one day be; your Ideal is the prophecy of what you shall at last unveil”. James Allen
The greatest achievement was at first and for a time a dream. The oak sleeps in the acorn; the bird waits in the egg; and in the highest vision of the soul a waking angel stirs. Dreams are the seedlings of realities. The Vision that you glorify in your mind, the Ideal that you enthrone in your heart – this you will build your life by, this you will become”.

MKMMA Week 11 – Your Gold Dot

Often through our life’s journey, our paths cross with people who impact our lives in magnificent ways, and maybe sometimes in ways we don’t fully comprehend at the time. I feel so privileged in my life, to be on this journey with the MKMMA and all of you. Mark J, Davene and all the great MKMMA guides have been incredible mentors the last 11 weeks and I have learned so much.

A mentor is someone you can look up to, normally deemed to be a trusted counselor or guide. Mentors play a crucial part in our lives by sharing their experience, words of positive thinking and how you can go about getting the best out of your life. A mentor cannot free anyone from life’s challenges, but they can teach you how to cope with them, overcome them, learn from them, and move onto your next level of growth. They teach us we must “Determine to be determined…. to live a determined life! To live a life with purpose.

We must “Determine to be determined….

To live a determined life”

“To Live a life with purpose.”

One of my affirmations on my index card:

“I am determined to be determined… to live a determined life, a life with purpose. I will persist until I succeed- True North, strong and free”.  golddot

“I am whole, perfect, strong, powerful, loving, harmonious and happy”golddot

I have been truly blessed with some of the greatest positive thinking, motivational and incredible mentors throughout my life. One of them happens to be a friend and mentor, Vince Poscente, who I had the fortune of meeting at one of our corporate conventions in Dallas, Texas a few years ago. He told us about the gold dot, and it resonates with the colors and shapes we learning to use in the MKMMA course. I had put this gold dot on my cell phone, wallet, bathroom mirror, steering wheel on my vehicle, to remind me of my goals in life and recently have used it for my one sentence DMP.

I share with you his video on the gold golddot

* Speaker Hall of Fame

* 1992 Olympic Winter Games finalist (Speed Skiing – record holder at 135 mph on skis)

* New York Times Bestselling author of The Age of Speed – Learning to Thrive in our More-Faster-Now World

An authority on speed and focus, Vince Poscente knows the mindset needed to meet peak performance demands. During the 1992 Olympic Winter Games in Albertville, France, Vince raced to a Canadian national record of 135 miles per hour (216.7 km/hr) on skis. Even more astonishing, at the age of 26, Vince had never ski raced before. He went from a recreational skier to the Olympic finals in just four years! At the age of 30, after only four years of training, he was marching in the opening ceremonies with the Canadian Olympic team in Albertville, France. In the sport of speed skiing, Vince Poscente vied for gold with a speed of 135 mph on skis breaking all time records for speed skiing.

He was determined to be determined, to persist until he succeeded!

This video says so much about what we are learning in this course, especially the last few minutes. This is that emotional buzz I feel after my sit.

Look to this Day for it is Life, the very Life of Life. In Its brief course lie all the Verities and Realities of your existence; The Bliss of Growth; The Glory of Action; The Splendor of Beauty; For Yesterday is but a Dream, and Tomorrow is only a Vision: But Today well lived makes every Yesterday a Dream of Happiness, and Every Tomorrow a Vision of Hope. Look well, therefore, to This Day!”

MKMMA Week 10- The Golden Key…Persistence

I will persist until I succeed Scroll III

Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan Press On! Has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.”
                                                       – Calvin Coolidge

Here is a poem I wrote on the lesson for this week with Master Keys and Scroll III …I will persist until I succeed.

The man in the glass is looking back at you,
He’s saying don’t you give up on me.
Believe in yourself…Commit to yourself,
Till you own you’re DMP!

Through the struggles of life and mountains to climb
And all the challenges you will surely see.
Remember the most difficult thing is a decision to act,
And the rest is pure tenacity.

There’s the Law of the Universe, the Law of Growth,
And the Law of Cause and Effect.
If you learn them well and use them wisely,
Your PPN’s will surely be met!

Success is the sum of all the small efforts,
Repeated day in and day out.
Reading Og, Master Keys, and the Blue Print Builder
Say, “Do it now, I can do it!” with a shout!

So keep reading your cards , saying affirmations daily,
reading Og and the Master Keys.
Remember with effort, persistence and time,
You can be what you will to be!

Through your Hero’s Journey with MKMMA
You’re the Master of your own destiny.
All it takes is some effort and a will to succeed,
And a word called Tenacity!

Today is your day to let go of things that no longer serve you…Believe in yourself…Commit to Yourself!

I always keep my promises! I am Whole, Perfect, Strong, Powerful, Loving, Harmonious and Happy!

Week 9 MKMMA- The Gift of Giving!

“We make a living from what we get…..

We make a life by what we Give.”

As I thought about what to write for this week, I thought it was fitting, being Thanksgiving week, to write about giving and what we have been learning in our lessons in MKMMA regarding what Mark J has always said “ Give more, Get more.”

It’s human nature to believe, “When I have more I’ll give more.” If you come from this mentality you never have enough of anything to give. People who truly master the art of giving give out of the goodness of their hearts with no self-serving motives. Giving becomes a blessing for the giver and receiver.

It brings tears of joy to me to experience the comments on the different blogs and the wisdom they share with us, and the great words of encouragement and compassion the MKMMA members give to each other every week. Giving to others is such a special gift!

This week brings to mind our index card and our daily affirmation of the “Law of Giving and Receiving”.

Wherever I go I bring a gift. I may bring a compliment, a prayer, a trinket, a flower…but I promise I will give something to every person I encounter.

I promise to be a grateful receiver of the gifts that surround me, noticing nature, kindness, smiles and compliments, which I gladly receive with a “thank you.”

I promise to give the hope for joy, affluence, kindness, and love, consciously with every encounter, regardless of the brevity.

I promise to give without expectations or reciprocity from the channels I enrich because I know I am in the dynamic flow of giving and receiving.

“Give others all that is alive in us—our interest, understanding, our knowledge, our humor, everything in us that’s good. In doing so, we enhance the sense of aliveness in others while enhancing our own. When we give, we get a “heightened vitality” of what it means to be human.” –Erich Fromm

This was a great find for me and I want to share it with you. It exemplifies what giving is all about.

MKMMA WEEK 8- Look To This Day for it is Life

I greet this day with love in my heart!

Look well, therefore, to This Day!

From the Sanskrit

I feel weeks 7 and 8 of the MKMMA course have been key turning points in my life. Today I am so elated and overwhelmed with joy. I have finally mastered my DMP after 7 drafts with my guide Just Leader. Here is what he wrote to me.

“Kaaaaboooom! Awesome Joe, You got it!  Do you feel, when you read it aloud how it just feels great??? You are cleared here with this DMP as far as I am concerned. Let me know how I can help you further?”

I have done my DMP and affirmations music recording. I have to admit it was a challenge until I figured out how I was going to do it. I downloaded Audacity and watched the tutorial. An I then downloaded George Winston –Autumn album – ( my favorite time of year).  After 4 or 5 tries at it……I was a star. I now have it recorded an my computer and a CD in my vehicle so I can listen ot it several times a day. I had tears in my eyes listening to my voice expressing my DMP. What an incredible experience.

Your own mind is a sacred enclosure into which nothing harmful can enter except by your permission.
~Ralph Waldo Emerson

My Mental Diet: What an incredible challenge! I’ve had many restarts as I try to conquer this and I will….I Can Do It!!!! I’m happy to say I am on day #3 with not dwelling on a negative thought.  I have extensively used the ‘Law of Substitution’. Brian Tracy, in his book Maximum Achievement, explains the Law of Substitution this way:

“It states that your conscious mind can hold only one thought at a time, and that you can substitute one thought for another. The ‘crowding out’ principle allows you to deliberately replace a negative thought with a positive thought.”

It’s impossible to eradicate a thought from your mind unless you fill the space with something else. So I figured after many attempts and restarts I had to do something that would help me out. I prepared a mental toolbox to help me ward off those negative thoughts and situations that come up. I came up with a list of positive things that I can switch my attention to whenever I find a negative thought knocking at the door of my mind. I think about my DMP -that new cabin on the pristine lake, and sitting on the porch, feeling the warmth of the sun and seeing it shimmering on the water. I carry pictures of the people I love, my kids and people who make me happy to look at. I have an index card with my positive affirmations that I can read when I need to. It could include your pets, or thoughts on your accomplishments, or goals that inspire you. I wrote down some  beautiful places I remember that I’ve been to and think about upcoming vacations. Fill your mp3 , iPod, or CD  with music that inspires you. I have many! I placed a beautiful picture I took of Cayuga Lake at sunset on my computer screen and think of those warm summer nights enjoying its beauty when I’m at work and something negative tries to surface.                                                                                                                                                                          I say this to myself:  “I am the ruler of my mind and I decree that this thought is banished from my head. Then I think about those warm and beautiful thoughts or look at the pictures and index cards,  or “Goodbye negative thought, then I think thoughts of joy, pleasure and abundance. Guess what….It works! 4 more days to go!

“There is little difference in people, but that little difference makes a big difference. The LITTLE difference is attitude. The BIG difference is whether it is positive or negative.”
                                                                             -W. Clement Stone
I found this video which I think says it all for this week.
To all my MKMMA friends. The Best of Success!

Fill your mind with light, happiness, hope, feelings of security and strength, and soon your life will reflect these qualities. . ~Ramez Sasson

MKMMA Week 7- Thoughts and Dreams are Whispers from the Soul!

You become what you think about!

“You are today where your thoughts brought you; you will be tomorrow where your thoughts take you. “   – James L. Allen
Master Keys 7-18 States “Make the mental image; make it clear, distinct, perfect; hold it firmly; the ways and means will develop; supply will follow the demand; you will be led to the right thing at the right time and the right way. “

“Earnest Desire will bring about Confident Expectation, and in turn must be reinforced by Firm Demand. These three cannot fail to bring about Attainement, because the Earnest Desire is the feeling, the Confident Expectation is the thought, and the Firm Demand is the will, and as we have seen, feeling gives vitality to thought and the will holds it steadily until the law of Growth brings it into manifestation.”

Only as high as I can reach can I grow.
Only as far as I see can I go.
Only as deep as I look can I see.
Only as much as I dream can I be.
                                                               – Karen Ravn

Carl Sandburg said it best…

        “Nothing happens…but first a dream.”

Nothing happens but first a dream… This movie is a beautiful reminder that within each of us lies a powerful dream.

The future belongs to those who believe

in the beauty of their dreams.

– Eleanor Roosevelt
